Strengthening Granulating and Sintering Performance of Refractory Iron Concentrate by Pre-Pelletizing

May Concentrate Iron ore, as a refractory iron concentrate, deteriorates the permeability of sintered layer during sintering process due to its fine particle size and poor granulating performance. Therefore, it cannot be widely used in ore sintering. In this study, strengthening granulation using pre-pelletizing expand utilization ratio was proposed. The experiments conventional granulation, sinter pot test were carried out. Increasing (a concentrate) proportion detrimental reducing quasi-particle strength. performances improved by pre-pelletizing. average at 36% jumped 4.92 mm from 3.22 granulation.
